Our mission is to cultivate growth, both on and off the field. Through the dedication and mentorship of our coaches and volunteers, we empower our boys to learn football skills while also instilling essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, leadership, and JOY! We’re committed to making a positive impact beyond the game. We aim to foster a sense of responsibility, compassion, and unity among our players. Together, we strive to build not only skilled athletes, but also confident, compassionate individuals prepared to succeed in any endeavor they pursue.
Joe & Kristina Valenzuela have been Toro parents since 2013, and football parents since 2020. Over the years, we've seen changes in coaching staff affect the management of the youth program, and we stepped in to help provide stability. We believe in the power of a community organization and want to make sure this football program is available as long as there are boys who want to play! We don't play or coach, but make sure our players and coaches have everything they need to get through the season.
Our coaches are all volunteers. Many are parents with children on the team and we support that. Our program is closely associated with Mountain View High School. We practice there (or near there, depending on field availability), and its our home field for Saturday games. The high school coaches help to train and mentor our coaches.
Our program aims to develop players for high school. Instilling discipline and respect, while also keeping the practices and games fun for the kids is important. Teamwork and learning is the priority.
